The Heirloom Kitchen brings together, for the first time under one roof, India's two most influential royal culinary traditions — the Deccan cuisine of Hyderabad and the Awadhi cuisine of Lucknow. This union lives in one family. Kunwar Rani Kulsum Begum, niece of Salar Jung III, is master of her family's rare Salar Jung recipes — a royal Hyderabadi repertoire preserved within the family for generations. Her marriage to Rajkumar Amir Naqi Khan of the Mahmudabad royal family of Lucknow (Basaha Estate) brought her a second inheritance: direct exposure to authentic Awadhi Mughlai cuisine, a lineage celebrated for generations of royal patronage and refined taste. Their daughter, Chef Maliha Khan, has grown up with an equal command of both — carrying forward a culinary legacy that is, quite literally, Deccan and Awadh in one bloodline. This is not the first time these flavours have been tasted. What is new is the invitation: for the first time, both royal legacies are available together, as a curated residency, presented at your table exactly as they have always been kept. This is a legacy that cannot be recreated — only experienced.
